    24/01/2022 Age & Opportunity Grant Scheme

    We are delighted to announce that Sport Ireland and Age & Opportunity have announced funding under their Active National Grant Scheme for Sport and Physical Activity. 

    The Active National Grant Scheme aims to assist in the implementation of locally-developed, well-planned initiatives designed to increase participation in recreational sport and physical activity by older people. In particular, the scheme is aimed at:

    • supporting the work of Age & Opportunity’s Active Programme including the network of PALs (Physical Activity Leaders) and the development of Go for Life Games and other initiatives;
    • assisting local clubs/organisations to enhance existing opportunities for their members in recreational sport and physical activity;
    • assisting local clubs/organisations to start new initiatives geared at involving older people in recreational sport and physical activity;
    • encouraging all sports clubs to provide new initiatives within their clubs aimed at getting older people back to their sport;
    • assisting those working in care settings (both nursing homes and day care settings) to introduce more initiatives to increase physical activity levels of those in their care.

     

    Grants up to €1,000 can be allocated to sports clubs.

     

     

    The closing date for completed application forms is 12 noon on Friday, 25th February 2022.

    20/10/2021 *Deadline Extension * Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme 2nd Round

    The deadline for this fund has been extended to Friday the 12th of November at 5pm.

    Badminton Ireland are delighted to announce the 2nd Round of the Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme which all Badminton Ireland ROI affiliated clubs can apply for to assist them with the financial impact that the Co-Vid 19 pandemic has had on their club activities.

    This Grant Scheme is available as a result of the announcement from Government that up to €15 million would be made available to support clubs nationwide. Moreover, Sport Ireland recently confirmed that Badminton Ireland would be allocated funds to deliver and administer a 2nd Round of the Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme through the National Governing Body. We thank both the Government and Sport Ireland for their support during this challenging time for our sport.

     

    Clubs may now apply for this grant if they have recevied funding from their Local Sports Partnership. 

    The conditions are as follows:

    • Money received from LSP and money being applied for through BI must not exceed €1,500
    • Clubs will need to provide confirmation of what funding was received from LSP and for what equipment
    • Clubs must not apply for the same equipment as LSP application

     

    Applications are to be submitted by all clubs via the following Microsoft Forms link:  Badminton Ireland Resilience Fund Club Grant Scheme Application Form 

     

    Any supporting documentation to submit alongside your application should be sent to Sarah O'Donoghue on sodonoghue@badmintonireland.com.

     

    Deadline for submissions is on Friday November 12th at 5pm.

    *Please be aware that the Resilience Funding Grant Scheme through Sport Ireland is only available to affiliated clubs in ROI.

Development overview

Badminton Ireland is committed to facilitating participation in the sport across the 32 counties of Ireland. This is achieved by focusing on the development of all facets of badminton, with a special focus on the growth of existing clubs, the creation of new clubs, being an inclusive sport that anybody can play and facilitating opportunities to play in all levels of educational facilities across the country.
