Safeguarding Checklist

In terms of Safeguarding,  if you have juvenile players in your club, you must have the following:

1. All PLAYERS/COACHES are affiliated to Badminton Ireland □
2. A juvenile club must have at least one Safeguarding Officer □
3. A Safeguarding Officer must have completed the following training:
   1. Safeguarding Level 1 Training/ Safeguarding Children & Young People □
   2. Garda Vetting / Access NI Checked □
   3. Be an affiliated Badminton Ireland Member □
4. A Safeguarding Officer who sits on the club committee □
5. A Safeguarding Officer who is actively enforcing the Code of Conduct with players, officials and coaches □
6. A Club Designated Liaision Person (assumed by the Chair of the Club if none can be appointed for the position) □
7. Completed Child Risk Assessment □
8. Completed Safeguarding Statement visible at your venue of play □
9. Have and use a Safeguarding Officer BI Secure email account □

(Points 6,7 and 8 refer to Affiliated Bodies in the Republic of Ireland only.)
